Goal: Networking of researchers for the joint improvement of housing conditions for laboratory animals. The latest findings and technical achievements are exchanged and young scientists are trained in the use of automated observation technology.
3R relevance: Animal welfare can be constantly monitored so that immediate action can be taken in the event of any abnormalities (refine). In addition, the data thus obtained contributes to a comprehensive characterization of animal models (e.g. for certain human diseases). This means that time-consuming and stressful animal experiments outside the home cage can be avoided (Reduce).
