The laureates of the 2025 Animal Protection Research Prize

The 2025 Animal Protection Research Prize of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) was awarded on April 22, 2025.

The prize is organized by the German Center for the Protection of Laboratory Animals (Bf3R) at the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) under the leadership of the BMEL.

The laureates will be honored in the following categories:

  • Animal Protection Research Prize for outstanding research achievements in replacing and reducing animal testing

           Prof. Dr. Hans Clevers 

  • Animal Protection Prize for Social and Civic Engagement in the Field of Laboratory Animals

           The Norwegian 3Rs Platform Norecopa (Link https://norecopa.no/), represented by Prof. Dr. Adrian Smith.
